💦🌲5 WATERFALLS + FALL FOLIAGE IN ONE DAY - the las 💦🌲5 WATERFALLS + FALL FOLIAGE IN ONE DAY - the last waterfall is my favorite 🍁🥾Here’s where I take families with young kids, older grandparents, and friends who aren’t big hikers but still enjoy nature . 📍These 5 Columbia River Gorge waterfalls are next to each other and can be easily done in one day. All dog, kid, and beginner-friendly. All absolutely worth it. . 🥾 More cozy PNW from a local - dog and family friendly, PTO/weekend recs, unique stays @adventuresoncall . 💦 HORSETAIL FALLS • Distance: 0 miles (view from parking) • Elevation: minimal • One of the easiest waterfalls in the Gorge — you can see it right from the road . 💦 LATOURELL FALLS • Distance: 0.2 miles roundtrip (0.1 miles to lower viewpoint) • Elevation: ~150 ft • A quick walk to a massive 240 feet single-plunge waterfall. Dramatic basalt walls and tons of spray = magic . 💦 SHEPPERD’S DELL FALLS • Distance: 0.1 miles • Elevation: Minimal • Tiny walk, big reward next to a bridge. A tucked-away hourglass shaped cascade that most people drive right past. . 💦 MULTNOMAH FALLS • Distance: 0.2 miles paved from parking lot to the base, additional 0.2 miles to Benson Bridge • Elevation: minimal to base, ~335 ft to Benson Bridge • Oregon’s icon 620 ft waterfall. Most crowded so come early or late, but worth it. Does need permits during the summer but fall/winter is off peak. . 💦 PONYTAIL FALLS • Distance: 0.8 miles roundtrip • Elevation: ~300 ft • Notes: Short but a bit steeper. The trail takes you behind the waterfall — one of the coolest spots in the Gorge. Same trailhead/parking as Horsetail Falls. . 📍Columbia River Gorge (just 40 min from Portland, 4 hours from Seattle) . 🥾 Perfect for families, beginners, or slow cozy exploring days.
